Associate in Management (AIM) Program

You can benefit from a comprehensive management education. In today's rapidly changing business climate, the ability to manage people and resources well and to make smart business decisions quickly are needed skills. Earning the AIM designation can increase your confidence as you manage direct reports, as well as increase your credibility with those in senior level positions. The AIM program includes human resource management, analysis of current business issues, and general management principles and practices. The courses in this program are best suited for mid-level managers. New or entry level supervisors should consider the Program in Supervisory Management (SM).

Required Courses and Topics Covered

The following courses are required to earn the AIM designation:

AIM 40—Management: The Environment of Management, Ethics and Social Responsibility, Managing Diverse Employees, Decision Making, Value Chain Management, Organizational Structure, Leadership, Motivation, Groups and Teams, Organizational Conflict, Operations Management, and Innovation, Product Development, and Entrepreneurship.

AIM 44—Human Resource Management: Strategic HR Management and Planning, Job Analysis and Design, Appraising Performance, Compensation, Training and Development, Labor Relations, and Promoting Safety and Health.

Exam Type

AIM 40 and 44: Eighty-five computer-administered objective (multiple-choice) questions. Time allotted: 2 hours

AIM 45: You must answer 150 questions from the posted articles and will have 14 months to complete the course. There is no end of course exam.
