INSTITUTES ANNOUNCE EXAM EXTENSION IN RESPONSE TO HURRICANES
The Institutes understand that the 2005 hurricane season has placed a significant burden on the insurance industry and on many of our students who are either victims of or are responding to the devastating storms. To help ease the burden many students are feeling, the Institutes will allow those affected to reschedule selected 2005 exams for the January 15–March 15, 2006, window.

A complete listing of eligible courses and full details of this special extension are on our Web site.

Eligible students who wish to take advantage of this extension must call the Institutes’ Customer Service Department at (800) 644-2101 or e-mail customer service to make changes and register for these extended exams; online registration is not available.

SALVE REGINA UNIVERSITY GIVES COLLEGE CREDIT FOR CPCU/IIA COURSES
The Institutes are pleased to announce another partnership for college degree credit. Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island, accepts all ACE credit recommendations for CPCU and IIA courses toward requirements for the MBA and MS Management graduate degree programs.

Students may receive course credit for up to 12 graduate credits, reducing remaining coursework to just eight courses (24 credits). Salve Regina offers a concentration in Insurance Management or will work with students to create a specialized concentration based on Institute courses taken.

For more information contact Dr. Myra Edelstein, Graduate Business Program Director, at (401) 341-3139.

EARN THE CPCU DESIGNATION
One of the benefits of earning the CPCU designation is the opportunity to attend the CPCU Society’s 61st Annual Meeting and Seminars. "Get Your Career in Gear" is the theme of this year's meeting to be held in Atlanta, Ga., on October 22 – 25, 2005. CPCU Society members and new CPCU designees will have many workshops from which to choose and will benefit from numerous professional and social networking opportunities.

A highlight of the Annual Meeting will be the CPCU Conferment Ceremony on Sunday, October 23. This year’s Conferment speaker is George F. Will, political commentator and newspaper columnist.

No political commentator is more influential than George F. Will. His newspaper column appears twice weekly in just under 500 newspapers. In addition, he pens a bimonthly back-page essay for Newsweek magazine. He has been awarded the Pulitzer Prize for commentary, and he appears every Sunday morning on ABC’s This Week. All CPCUs and Annual Meeting guests are invited to attend the Conferment Ceremony.
