The CPCU Candidate Outreach Contest
Sponsored by The Institutes

The Institutes are excited to announce the 2011 CPCU Candidate Outreach Contest. This is the second year for the contest and we hope that your chapter will participate. The purpose of the contest is to encourage interaction among CPCU Society Chapters and people pursuing the CPCU designation. In a recent study, we found that CPCU students who have contact with their local chapters are almost twice as likely to complete the CPCU program and become CPCU Society members as compared to those who do not

How to Get Your Chapter Involved

1. Commit to participate in the contest by sending an e-mail to Director of Customer Relations Kathy Hinkle at hinkle@theinstitutes.org.

2. Encourage current or prospective CPCU students to attend any chapter sponsored activities from April 1, 2011, through September 15, 2011. Suggested activities include:

  • Chapter meeting or other chapter event (guest speaker appearance, networking reception, social event, chapter conferment ceremony)
  • Mentoring meeting (one-on-one or group)
  • ‘Lunch and Learn’ about the value of being a CPCU Any other chapter activity

3. Log candidate participation on our website. Click here to enter participants

4. For group activities involving 5 or more candidates, please send a spreadsheet with participant names and e-mail addresses to hinkle@theinstitutes.org.

What Your Chapter Can Win

Two prizes will be awarded:

  •  One award will be presented to the CPCU Society Chapter that records the greatest total number of current or prospective CPCU students at its chapter activities
  • One award will be presented to the CPCU Society Chapter that records the greatest total number of current or prospective CPCU students as a percentage of chapter membership

The top chapters will all be recognized at the 2011 Annual Meeting and each will receive a $750 stipend to use at their discretion.

The contest begins April 1, 2011, and ends September 15, 2011. Winners will be announced at the end of September.

How the Contest Works

After you host a chapter activity, enter the names of the current or prospective CPCU students who participated in the activity. Each month, we will post the standings on this Web site.

For more information regarding this contest, contact Kathy Hinkle, Director of Customer Relations, at hinkle@theinstitutes.org or 484-831-9069.

Thank you for supporting professional development and the CPCU designation program. Good luck!
