Why you need this course:
After completing this course, you’ll be able to evaluate the methods your organization can use to satisfy statutory workers compensation requirements.

Upon successful completion of this course, you should be able to:

  • Given a case involving a work-related injury to an employee, determine the coverage provided by the Workers Compensation and Employers Liability policy.
  • Describe the coverage provided by the WC&EL policy for a claim made under Part One—Workers Compensation Insurance of the policy.
  • Describe the coverage provided by the WC&EL policy for a claim made under Part Two—Employers Liability Insurance of the policy.
  • Describe the exclusions in Part One—Workers Compensation Insurance of the policy.
  • Describe the exclusions found in Part Two—Employers Liability Insurance of the policy.
  • Explain the purposes of Parts 3, 4, 5, and 6 of a WC&EL policy.
  • Explain how, other than purchasing a WC&EL policy, an employer can meet its obligations to provide benefits to injured workers.
  • Describe the implications to the insurer and the claim adjuster of the use of alternatives to purchasing a WC&EL policy.
