Why you need this course:
Homeowners policies don’t always provide adequate coverage for some types of personal property. Understanding how to supplement coverage provided with umbrella, inland marine, and watercraft policies is integral to making sure your customers have the coverage they need. This course will give you the foundation you need to be able to recommend appropriate policies to meet your customers’ personal property needs.
Upon successful completion of all four modules in this course, you should be able to:
- Summarize the coverages provided by personal inland marine policies
- Compare the coverages typically provided for watercraft under each of the following:
- HO-3
- Personal Auto Policy
- Small boat policies
- Boatowners and yacht policies
- Summarize the coverage provided by the typical personal umbrella policy
- Given a case describing a liability claim determine:
- Whether the loss would be covered by a personal umbrella policy
- The dollar amount, if any, payable under the umbrella policy
- The dollar amount, if any, payable under the underlying insurance policies
- The dollar amount, if any, payable by the insured
We recommend that you study the modules in the order presented in the course.
