Why you need this course:
Knowing the roles and responsibilities of each party involved in an insurance transaction is essential to understanding the responsibilities of the insurance producer as well as the functions of common insurance marketing systems. This course provides you with an overview of the role of the producer and factors that affect the producer’s role, such as firm size, type of customers, and account complexity. It also reviews the agency and brokerage marketing system, the exclusive agency marketing system, and the direct writer marketing system, so you have a broad understanding of the three common insurance marketing systems.

Upon successful completion of all three modules in this course, you should be able to:

  • Identify the parties to an insurance transaction and the role of each
  • Identify insurance producer job functions and the purpose of each
  • Contrast the common insurance marketing systems in terms of their:
    • Contractual relationship with the insurers whose policies they sell
    • Method of compensation
    • Ownership of expirations

We recommend that you study the modules in the order presented in the course.
