What is the difference between exam centers?
The Institutes gives exams at
• Prometric Testing Centers.
• Institutes Approved On-Site Testing Centers.
• Foreign Paper and Pen Testing Centers
Different registration procedures and exam fees apply to each kind of center.
Prometric Testing Centers. CPCU and IIA computerized exams are given at Prometric Testing Centers located in more than 420 cities worldwide. To find the center closest to you, visit www.prometric.com/aicpcu.
Institutes Approved On-Site Testing Centers. If your organization has the necessary in-house computer testing facilities, it may offer Institute exams on-site. These centers usually are open only to the organization’s own employees. To see if on-site exams are available to you, go to our listing of Institutes Approved On-Site Testing Centers.
If your organization would like to qualify for reduced exam fees by administering on-site CPCU and IIA exams, e-mail Corinne Angelilli at angelilli@cpcuiia.org, fax the Institutes’ Assessments Department at (610) 695-0881, or call (877) 463-0400.

Can I earn CE credits through the Institutes?
Yes. Many states offer CE credits for passing Institute exams. Take a moment to look up CE
credits for your state.
And what about college credit for Institute courses?
The American Council on Education (ACE) has made college credit recommendations for the
Institutes' courses. These recommendations range from 1 to 6 semester hours (most are 3 hours). Most credit recommendations apply to a bachelor's degree; however, a number of courses (including all CPCU courses) are recommended for graduate credit. These
recommendations are given only as guidelines for use when planning your courses with a college advisor. You can also apply the Institutes' courses directly to earning a bachelor's or an associate degree in our joint degree program with a number of colleges that offer online degrees.
