The American Institute for Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters (AICPCU), the CPCU Society, the American College, and the Society of Financial Services Professionals founded Ethics Awareness Month in 1990 to encourage insurance professionals to consider the ethical issues that are involved in the practice of insurance. It has been observed by insurance professionals each year in March ever since.
